Sadie Segriff is an artist raised and based in Whitehorse, Yukon, the Traditional Territory of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation, and Ta’an Kwäch’än Council. She is a white queer cis woman and identifies as a post-colonial Canadian settler. Her work is influenced by her northern upbringing, environmentalism, and advocating for human rights. Sadie’s practice is to research human identity and expression that explores her connection to people and the natural environment around her. In April 2019, Sadie co-founded Off Course Footing, a collective creating site-specific work with pre-existing available space. In 2021, Off Course Footing produced their four-hour show In Relation at the Yukon Arts Centre. Sadie’s local works have also been a part of Jenni House 2021, Create at the Canyon 2021, Available Light Film Festival 2021 and Yukon Riverside Arts Festival 2020. Sadie is a 2021 graduate of X University’s School of Performance Dance Program. In 2019, she received the Pamela Hackett award of excellence in dance through the School of Performance.
